The property of certain specially formulated cement slurries-used in cementing jobs downhole-that causes them to "set," become rigid when pumping ceases. But when force is again applied (pumping is resumed) the cement again becomes a pumpable slurry. This procedure may be repeated until the predetermined setting time of the cement is reached.
