A refining process for converting middle-boiling or residual material to high-octane gasoline, reformer charge stock, jet fuel and/or high-grade fuel oil. Hydrocracking is an efficient, relatively low-temperature process using hydrogen and a catalyst. The process is considered by some refiners as a supplement to the basic catalytic cracking process.
